Locations, Activities & Props

Photographers can have the knack to turn an otherwise ordinary spot into something extraordinary with the right lighting and posing guidance! We can include travel to Canmore, Banff and Kananaskis for an addition with our regular photo sessions, but we've got lots of great local spots as well.

We *love* golden hour which will give us that golden whimsical look we often show in our images. We always schedule these 1 hr sessions 1.5 hours before the sun is scheduled to go down. (Unless we are shooting in the mountains where the sun slips away earlier and we will suggest a time based on your location of choice.)

Ideas for props/story telling - think of what you love to do as a couple or something meaningful to do at your session. We love when your photo session is an experience you will have fond memories of!

Here's some of our favourite ideas:

-Cake & champagne

-Picnic basket of pretty sodas and treats

-French press coffee for two wrapped up in your favourite blanket

-A cuddle serenade with the guitar

-baking together in the kitchen

-s'mores by the fire

-a short hike to find a pretty view!

What to Expect from your session

You will have one photographer arrive at the location you've decided on, and we will shoot for 1 hour! In an hour we deliver 75 edited images in an online gallery which you will receive within four weeks. We always aim to give you a quick preview within the next few days.

Makeup & Wardrobe

This can be a good chance to try out wearing lashes or getting your makeup and nails professionally done. Perhaps this is a good time to try out the makeup artist you have in mind for your wedding day. (Many include a makeup trial which could be put to good use!)

When choosing your outfits - clothes that compliment one another is best! For example, if someone is wearing a patterned shirt - you may want to have the other person in something solid with a colour from the pattern. A change of clothes can be nice, but not necessary. If you do choose to have a wardrobe change, we suggest a casual & formal option for variety. We find that a change of clothes for guys can be as simple as a t-shirt with a button up shirt as a second option. Whatever you choose, make sure you feel confident and not too restricted.

We suggest planning the footwear you will wear in advance as this often gets forgotten.

Ladies.

Remember to remove any hair elastics or Fitbit/watch.

Guys- remember to remove your phone from your pockets.

Avoid logos/text on your clothes and hats.
